The GBTA Board of Directors is the volunteer leadership team that sets direction, protects the public interest, and ensures the initiative remains lawful, transparent, and impact-driven across all 69 wilayas.
1) Why a strong Board matters
GiveBack to Algeria (GBTA) is not a short-lived campaign and not a personal project. It is a long-term national initiative that requires collective, responsible leadership. The Board:
Protects the mission and turns it into structured decisions.
Ensures good governance, transparency, and accountability.
Sets priorities, prevents disorder, and manages conflicts of interest.
Tracks progress, measures results, and drives continuous improvement.
Important note on current status:
GBTA is in the preparation and set-up phase. We are building the legal and organisational framework and are not collecting funds under the initiative’s name until the required legal steps and safeguards are completed.
2) Why do we need national representation across 69 wilayas
Algeria now has 69 wilayas, and GBTA is national in scope. We need a Board that helps:
Understand real local needs, not theoretical assumptions.
Ensure fairness in strategic thinking and avoid decision-making in a narrow circle.
Build trust and legitimacy through representation and listening.
Prepare coordination with future Wilaya Ambassadors, local committees, and partners.
From a legal and organisational perspective, we also require representation from a meaningful number of wilayas within the founding team to support national registration.
3) The Board and the operating arm
The proposed structure is:
A national non-profit association (under Algerian Law 12-06) as guardian of the public interest and owner of the initiative.
A fully owned operating company (Al Amana Development) to deliver projects professionally.
An asset lock and a non-distribution rule so that all surpluses are reinvested into new public-benefit projects, with no profits paid to individuals.
The Board does not manage day-to-day operations. It sets the framework, approves key policies, oversees performance, and protects the safeguards.
4) What a Board member does
Board membership means active contribution to building a serious institution, typically including:
Approving the vision, goals, and phased roadmap.
Adopting core policies: transparency, procurement, conflicts of interest, risk management, and data protection.
Creating committees, reviewing their reports, and making evidence-based decisions.
Reviewing proposed plans and budgets before approval.
Monitoring alignment between the operating arm and agreed targets and standards.
Representing GBTA consistently and respectfully.
5) Who we are looking for
We welcome Algerians who can commit time, bring integrity, and think institutionally.
Key qualities:
Integrity, transparency, and the ability to challenge when needed.
A structured mindset, respect for procedures, and teamwork.
Calm decision-making and mature disagreement management.
Ability to read documents, understand basic figures, and ask the right questions.

Very important: Board membership is voluntary and unpaid.
