GBTA FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Clear answers about GiveBack to Algeria (GBTA), how it works, and the safeguards we intend to apply.
Intro
This page covers the most common questions. We are committed to clarity: GBTA is currently in the preparation and structuring phase. We are not collecting contributions until the legal framework, governance, and oversight mechanisms are finalised and formally announced.
1) What is GiveBack to Algeria (GBTA)?
GBTA is a citizen-led national initiative, driven by Algerians at home and abroad, aiming to convert national commitment into a structured, sustainable effort through productive projects across Algeria’s 69 wilayas.
2) What is the main goal?
To launch viable projects that create value and jobs, then reinvest any surplus to fund further projects for long-term public benefit.
3) Is GBTA just a fundraising campaign?
No. The proposed model combines a non-profit association as guardian of the public interest with a professional operating arm to deliver projects, with reinvestment at its core.
4) Is GBTA already legally registered in Algeria?
GBTA is currently in preparation. Official registration details, governance bodies, and approved accounts will be published once completed.
5) What is the proposed structure?
A two-layer model:
A national non-profit association (within the Algerian legal framework) is the owner and guardian of the mission.
A fully owned operating company (“Al Amana Development”) to implement and run projects professionally.
6) What is “Al Amana Development”?
A proposed commercial delivery arm responsible for implementation, hiring, contracts, operations, and scaling, fully owned by the association and governed by strict controls.
7) How are decisions made?
Through structured governance: board oversight, specialist committees, conflict-of-interest rules, transparent reporting, and impact measurement.
8) What does the €25 per month figure mean?
It is an illustrative reference contribution used to explain the model (often shown as 1.5 million participants over 7.5 years). Any live contribution mechanism would be announced only after legal and operational readiness.
9) Are you collecting money now?
No. I just wanted to let you know that no contributions are being collected at this stage. Any official launch will be communicated via the website and verified official channels.
10) How will you prevent misuse of funds?
Through safeguards such as independent audit at launch, procurement rules, mandatory disclosures, periodic financial reporting, and a transparency dashboard.
11) Will contributors receive dividends or profits?
The proposed model is non-distributive to individuals. Surpluses are reinvested to grow long-term impact.
12) Where will projects be delivered?
Across all 69 wilayas, prioritised by need, feasibility, and measurable impact.
13) How will projects be selected?
Using feasibility studies, risk assessment, socio-economic impact analysis, operational readiness, and scalability.
14) Do you already have a project list?
A portfolio is being structured. Projects and progress will be published in the Projects and Updates sections.
15) How can I support GBTA now if there is no fundraising yet?
You can help by volunteering expertise, sharing official pages, introducing partners, contributing ideas, and following progress updates.
16) Can diaspora members participate?
Yes. Participation is open to Algerians worldwide, organised through teams and committees.
17) How do I verify information about GBTA?
Rely only on the official website and official GBTA social channels. Anything else is unverified until published by GBTA.
18) Can I use the GBTA name or logo?
I think it’s a good idea for you, but you do not claim official representation, and you do not run fundraising under the GBTA name before an official announcement.
19) How do I contact you?
Please use the Contact page and follow the Updates section for the latest announcements.
