About Us
GiveBack to Algeria (GBTA) | Giving Back to Algeria
GiveBack to Algeria (GBTA) is a national initiative led by Algerians at home and abroad. It aims to transform belonging and the desire to give back into a structured, sustainable institutional effort that supports Algeria’s development across all 69 wilayas, through productive projects with clear economic and social impact.
We are not a short-lived campaign and not an individual project. We are a collective vision that seeks to build a new development model based on transparency, efficiency, continuity, and reinvesting returns into long-term projects that serve the public interest.
Why the initiative exists
Because Algeria deserves to see the energy of its daughters and sons turned into real, measurable achievements, and because we need a practical model that ensures efforts, donations, and volunteering do not get lost in improvisation, but become strong institutions and projects that run professionally, are measured, and can grow.
GBTA’s message is simple:
Giving back starts with reading and understanding, then participating, and finally building.
Our Vision
A modern, strong, fair-opportunity Algeria, built through citizen participation, and driven by an institutional approach that respects the law and creates lasting impact in every wilaya.
Our Mission
To establish a national framework that brings Algerians together around productive projects, governed by strict standards, and that reinvests returns to expand development, create jobs, improve services, and strengthen the local economy.
Our Values
Transparency first: clear information, and rigorous tracking of impact, spending, and results.
Seriousness and professionalism: realistic, achievable projects, not slogans.
National fairness: serving all wilayas according to need, priority, and feasibility.
Sustainability: building assets and projects that last, grow, and reinforce themselves.
A culture of participation: every Algerian can contribute: an idea, time, expertise, commitment, support.
Our proposed institutional model
GBTA is built on a clear governance model that separates safeguarding the public interest from professional delivery:
A national non-profit association under Algerian Law 12-06
This is the umbrella framework, owner, and guardian of the public interest. It sets direction and standards and ensures transparency and compliance.A delivery company fully owned by the association: “Al Amana Development”
This is the operational arm responsible for implementing and managing projects professionally, with plans, budgets, and measurable objectives.
Core principle:
Any surplus or profit is always reinvested into new projects that serve the country, with no distribution of profits to individuals.
Our Scope
National reach: across all 69 wilayas.
Global dimension: engaging the diaspora as a powerful support force through expertise, knowledge, and networks.
Impact-led: prioritising projects that meet real needs, create jobs, and build sustainable assets.
How we work
We follow clear stages:
Preparation and structuring: documents, organisation, governance, teams, and legal consultations.
Legal registration: completing requirements and forming bodies through official frameworks.
Project selection: using published criteria such as impact, feasibility, sustainability, and scalability.
Implementation: through Al Amana Development with professional management and performance indicators.
Measurement and improvement: publishing results, reporting, and continuous improvement.
Transparency and governance
We commit to strong governance principles, including:
conflict of interest policies
periodic audits and reporting
clear procurement and contracting processes
publishing verifiable information and results
defined internal and administrative accountability
Our goal is for GBTA to become a benchmark for trust and clarity.
Important note on current status and funding
GBTA is currently in the preparation and structuring phase and has not yet been formally registered in Algeria at the time of writing this page.
Any reference to a “monthly contribution,” such as €25, is an illustrative example used to explain the concept in our documents and does not represent fundraising at this stage. Any future funding step will take place only after the official legal framework is in place, in line with applicable laws and procedures.
